Water Pooling in Your Yard? Fix the Grade, Not the Symptom.

When a Scottsdale yard holds water, floods after a storm, or sends runoff toward the house, the ground is sloped wrong. We regrade it so the water leaves. Uneven, bumpy yards get leveled the same way.

Four Signs Your Yard Needs Regrading

If you recognize one of these, the ground is moving water the wrong way.

Water sits after it rains

Puddles still there a day or two after a storm mean the yard has nowhere to drain. Standing water kills grass and breeds mosquitoes.

Water runs toward the house

The expensive one to ignore. Ground should fall away from the foundation. When it falls toward it, water ends up where it does real damage.

The yard is bumpy or sunken

Low spots, ruts, and soft patches make the yard hard to mow, hard to use, and easy to twist an ankle on.

Soil washes out

Dirt moving downhill after every storm, exposed tree roots, or a driveway that gutters out. The water has picked its own path.

What We Do in a Residential Yard

Same crew and equipment we run on job sites, scaled to a house.

The Work

  • Regrade the yard so water drains away from the house
  • Level uneven ground, low spots, and ruts
  • Shape drainage paths so runoff has somewhere to go
  • Prep ground for grass, turf, pavers, or a patio
  • Regrade driveways and side yards that wash out
  • Haul dirt in or out, depending on what the yard needs

Where We Work

Scottsdale, Phoenix, Paradise Valley, Cave Creek, Fountain Hills, Mesa, and Tempe.

What Sets the Price

Four things: the size of the area, how far the ground has to move, whether dirt comes in or goes out, and how easy the yard is to reach. We look at all four on site and give you the number before anything starts.

Monsoon Runs June 15 to September 30

Every year the Valley gets storms that drop a lot of water fast. A yard that drains correctly handles it. A yard that doesn't sends the water somewhere you don't want it.

Before the season

Spring is the calm window to get the slope right and clear the paths water is supposed to take. You're fixing it on your schedule instead of during a storm.

After a storm

If this monsoon showed you exactly where the water goes, that's the information we need. Tell us what you saw and where it went.

How It Works

1

Tell us what you're seeing

Call or send the form. Describe where the water goes or what the ground is doing. A photo helps.

2

We come look

We walk the yard with you, check the slope and the access, and mark irrigation and anything you want protected.

3

You get the estimate

A clear price and a timeline, free and with no obligation. Nothing starts until you say so.

4

We do the work

Most yards are one to two days. We clean up and walk it with you at the end.

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on the size of the area, how much the ground has to move, whether we bring dirt in or haul it out, and how easy the yard is to reach with equipment. We look at those four things on site and give you the number before any work starts. The estimate is free and there is no obligation.

Usually yes. We run compact equipment for backyard work and choose the machine after we see the access. If the gate is too narrow, we'll tell you what it would take before you commit to anything.

It depends on how much soil moves and whether the work changes drainage across a property line. Scottsdale and Maricopa County both have grading requirements for residential lots. We check that for your address before we start and tell you where you stand.

Most residential yards are a one to two day job once we mobilize. Larger lots, or jobs that need dirt hauled in or out, take longer. You get the timeline with the estimate.

For a small low spot, a shovel and a few bags of soil can work. Regrading a whole yard is different: the slope has to be right across the full run, or the water finds a new place to sit, sometimes against your foundation. Getting it wrong costs more than doing it once.

We walk the yard with you first and mark irrigation, lines, and anything you want protected. Tell us what stays and what goes before we bring equipment in.

Yes. We do site work for builders and developers, and we also take homeowner yards. Same crew, same equipment, same license.
